Honda HR-V Sport. Now with spicier

In the midst of the discreet renovation of the Honda HR-V , the main novelty is the arrival of the Sport version and with it came the 1.5 VTEC Turbo already used in the Civic.

Capable of delivering 182 hp, this engine can be fitted as standard to a six-speed manual gearbox or, as an option, to a CVT gearbox. When equipped with the six-speed manual gearbox the torque is 240 Nm and reaches between 1900 and 5000 rpm. With the CVT gearbox, the torque value drops to 220 Nm and is delivered between 1700 and 5500 rpm.

In dynamic terms, Honda has revised the steering setup and shock absorbers. The brand claims that the technology used in the Honda HR-V's shock absorbers has allowed it to improve handling in corners, increase stability in fast lane changes and reduce vibration on uneven roads.

Changes also in aesthetics

In terms of aesthetics, the Honda HR-V Sport also brings some new features. Thus, at the front, the differences between the Sport and the “normal” HR-V are in the black honeycomb grille and in the mirrors. At the rear, the differences arise from two exhaust outlets and a new bumper. The Honda HR-V also has 18″ wheels and side skirts.

Inside, the changes are more discreet. So, with the exception of new seats with more support (and with red and black trim) and red accents, the Honda HR-V's interior remains virtually unchanged. The production of Honda HR-V Sport should start this month and the brand expects the first copies to be delivered in the spring of 2019, but prices are not yet known.
