The revelation was made by the most responsible for Nissan's design, the Spaniard Alfonso Albaisa, when guaranteeing, in an interview with the British Autocar, that the second generation of the Juke “will not look much like the current one”, not even “with the IMx or the with new Leaf”.
According to Albaisa, the new Juke will be a kind of “urban meteor, with a confident attitude!”. We don't really know what this means, but it seems to us a farewell to the leased forms that characterized the first generation.
When asked about the rumors that the design initially presented will have been sent back, to be redone, the Spaniard defended that the new Juke “will surely arrive soon. Now, I don't know where that story came from. The truth is that the car was not sent back, it continues to have a very cool attitude, in addition to all the posture already known”.

New Juke next year
According to Autocar, the new Juke should arrive as early as 2019. Although it remains to be determined with which platform, if the current (V-Platform) or the future (CMF-B) of the next Renault Clio, and with which engines — the English publication talks about a bet on blocks of three cylinders 898 cm3 and four cylinders 1197 cm3 turbo, with powers between 90 and 115 hp, as well as a 1.5 Diesel of 110 hp, with permanent all-wheel drive.
However, all this still needs official confirmation.
A sales success… to continue?
Remember that the first generation of Juke was presented at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, eventually contributing to the explosion of its sub-segment, which, after sharp growth, reached 2016, with a total of 1.13 million cars cars sold this year alone.
However, forecasts already point to a doubling of this number in 2022.
As for Juke, it managed to surpass, throughout its life cycle, in four different years, the 100 thousand units sold. Will Nissan be able to repeat the winning formula of the Juke with new condiments?
