After we have already seen the BMW 8 Series in the coupé and convertible versions, a new four-door version is on the way, which, as is already tradition at the Bavarian brand, will be called Series 8 Gran Coupe.
For now, BMW hasn't revealed much about the newest member of the Series 8 range. However, it has already been possible to get a rough idea of its profile.
All thanks to a teaser released by BMW, where, despite the image being quite dark, it is possible to have a general idea of the contours of the German model. Previously, it was also anticipated by the M8 Concept Gran Coupe.
So, if up to the A-pillar the Gran Coupe version seems to us at all similar to its “range brothers”, the same doesn't happen from there to the back, where, in addition to the presence of the rear doors, it is possible to see that the roof is longer and that the rear panel is (as you'd expect) unique to this version.
Series 8. A growing family
In addition to the 8 Series Gran Coupe, which will be presented at the BMW Group #NextGen event from 25-27 June in Munich, the BMW 8 Series “family” is expected to welcome yet another member this year. Obviously we're talking about the sportiest and most extreme version of the entire range, the BMW M8.

Seen several times testing on circuits all over the world, from the Nürburgring to Estoril (where BMW took official “spy photos”), definitive figures on the power or performance of the new M8 are not yet known.
However, it is already known that it will share the engine with the M5 (a twin turbo V8 with 4.4 l capacity) and will also inherit the eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission and the M xDrive system (which will come with a mode). 2WD). Available will also be the M Servotronic electromechanical steering and, optionally, carbon-ceramic brakes.
