A few days before the National Electric Vehicles Meeting – ENVE 2020, Kia presented the Kia XCeed PHEV. It will be at this event that the first test-drives will take place.

With an autonomy in 100% electric mode up to 59 km (urban WLTP) , the Kia XCeed PHEV hits the national market with a launch version called “First Edition”.

This “First Edition” version is limited to 100 units and is available in our country with a promotional price of 34 490 euros, for private customers. Business customers can benefit from the special measures for companies: €27 490 + VAT, with the additional attractiveness of the minimum autonomous tax rate of 5%.

More complete equipment level

The XCeed PHEV “First Edition” aligns with the high-end XCeed versions we already know.

From this “First Edition” version, you can expect the following standard equipment: 10.25″ infotainment system (compatible with Android Auto and CarPlay), SuperVision digital instrument panel with 12.3 screen, smartphone induction charger, intelligent luggage compartment, full led headlights, automatic high beam, rear parking camera, smart key, lane maintenance assistant and frontal collision alert, among others.

Most electrified range

The arrival of the plug-in hybrid version marks the completion of yet another step in the electrification strategy that Kia Motors intends to apply to its vehicles.

João Seabra, general director of Kia Portugal, comments:

“Kia is already one of the brands with the largest ecological range in Portugal and the arrival of the XCeed PHEV gives a decisive boost to this strategy. It combines all the benefits of plug-in hybrid technology with the style of a compact SUV, which has earned it several national and international awards”.

Power and autonomy of the Kia XCeed PHEV

The new plug-in hybrid XCeed is an alternative to conventional combustion-only engines.

The new propulsion system of the Kia XCeed PHEV combines the 8.9 kWh battery with a 44.5 kW electric motor and a 1.6 GDI (gasoline direct injection) combustion engine.

These elements guarantee a power and a combined torque of 141 hp and 265 Nm . Numbers that allow the XCeed PHEV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 11 seconds. The propulsion system is accompanied by a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox (6DCT).

In autonomy with zero emissions, that is, in exclusively electric mode, drivers can count on 59 km (urban cycle WLTP), thus allowing them to carry out daily journeys without resorting to the combustion engine.

Created exclusively for Europe, this plug-in hybrid has just gone on sale, with a 7-year or 150,000 km warranty as standard.
