Cold Start. Meanwhile in Australia… Kangaroos invade Bathurst's 12:00 circuit

Welcome to Australia, mate… That's what we can only say after the legendary circuit of Monte Panorama was invaded by kangaroos in this year's edition of 12 Hours of Bathurst , the first race of the GT Intercontinental 2020 Championship and also of the 2020 Australian Endurance Championship.

However, the unusual moment is not unprecedented, nor rare, due to the circuit being located in a region where kangaroos are common.

In the recent past (2015), snipers were even hired (no kidding) as an extreme measure, to prevent a kangaroo from entering the circuit while the race was taking place, in order to avoid a collision between one of the marsupials and a high-speed car.

Between the drought that has been felt in the area, plus the vast fires of recent weeks, the kangaroos' food source has been scarce, so it is natural that they feel attracted by the careful vegetation that exists in the area surrounding the circuit.

Fortunately, in the 12 hours of Bathurst this year, even though the circuit was invaded by kangaroos, there were no incidents to report between the animals and the machines!
