Ford is exploring an alternative to the sportier proposals currently available in the SUV segment. A version with an “RS” stamp is a strong possibility.
There is no going back. The SUV segment has long been a real sales success around the world. In addition to the more versatile, familiar and even ecological proposals, the demand for sportier and higher performance variants has increased in the same measure. This is where Ford can enter.In an interview with Car Dealer Magazine, the global director of Ford Performance, Dave Pericak, did not hide that the American brand welcomes the development of an SUV with RS signature. However, to advance to production, the new model will have to meet certain criteria. One of them, of course, is performance:
“If we make the necessary modifications for its performance to be worthy of an RS model, why not?
To be confirmed, the Ford Kuga it assumes itself as the main candidate to undergo an RS treatment, but let those who think that these are slight and inconsequential changes must be disillusioned. Judging by Dave Pericak's statements, we are talking about a truly performance-oriented model.

“If you look at the SUV market right now, there aren't that many credible proposals. There are those who have already made partial attempts to create a high-performance SUV, but there are no truly credible solutions. That's why I think we have a window of opportunity here.”
For now, there is no date for the presentation of a new Ford RS model. We can only wait for more news from the American brand.
