Ford has updated the Kuga range with new powertrains that deliver more power and emit less emissions. The 2.0TDCi diesel engine – which powers 83 per cent of Kuga's sold in the top 20 European markets – has boosted maximum power by a further 17hp to 180hp and maximum torque rises from the previous 340Nm to 400Nm.

New additions include the new 1.5 EcoBoost petrol engine for the Kuga, which reduces CO2 emissions from 154 g/km to 143 g/km – an improvement of more than seven percent when compared to the previous 1.6 engine. liters EcoBoost. Ford will also offer a version of the 2.0TDCi engine with 120 hp that emits 122 g/km of CO2 – a 12 percent improvement.

In addition to the updated engines, Ford SYNC also technologically updated the AppLink, which will allow drivers to voice activation of the 'apps', thus keeping their eyes on the road and their hands on the steering wheel. Among the available applications is the Spotify music streaming service.
