Lamborghini Huracán LP580-2: the rear-wheel drive hurricane

Anonim

The new rear-wheel-drive version of the Lamborghini Huracán is less powerful than the all-wheel-drive version, but that's no reason to be discouraged. A rear-wheel drive Huracán is always welcome.

The latest member of the Lamborghini range was today, as planned, unveiled at the Los Angeles Motor Show, and the main new feature is the rear-wheel drive system. Compared to the LP610-4 version, the new Lamborghini Huracán LP580-2 is 33kg lighter (due to the abandonment of the all-wheel drive system) but on the other hand, has 30 horsepower less than the first. The design remains identical, although the front and rear have been slightly revamped in both.

Also in accelerations, the new Huracán is losing in relation to the previous version. From 0 to 100km/h, the new rear-wheel drive “hurricane” takes 3.4 seconds, 0.2 seconds more than the Huracán LP 610-4. Regarding the maximum speed, the difference is less significant: 320km/h for the LP580-2 and 325km/h for the LP 610-4.

The new Lamborghini Huracán enters a market where it already has strong competition from the Ferrari 488 GTB and McLaren 650S, both with more power. However, Huracán is expected to be significantly cheaper, which could be in its favor. One thing is certain: with rear-wheel drive, the Huracán has everything to be more captivating and fun, providing (for those who dare…) a superior driving experience.
