Audi RS4 Avant Nogaro: The "reborn" of the mythical Audi RS2

Anonim

The legendary Audi RS2 is to be congratulated, it has just completed 20 years of existence. And to mark the date, Audi launched a special edition: the Audi RS4 Avant Nogaro.

The Audi RS2 Avant is one of those cars that is guaranteed to be on the wish list of any car enthusiast. A van that won a legion of fans, not only for its performance capable of putting many sports cars to shame at the time – it had a 2.2 liter engine with 315 hp and 410 Nm – but also for its status of technological excellence achieved in the 90s.

The Audi RS2 was also responsible for the emergence of an acronym that years later would become a symbol of power and strength. We are, of course, talking about the aforementioned acronym RS.

Audi RS2 Avant

Back in 2014, the Audi RS4 Avant Nogaro is a commemorative version of 20 years of the original Audi RS2. Therefore, it has several aesthetic elements with the aim of remembering, in the best possible way, its ancestor.

In terms of the exterior, the German manufacturer chose to paint the body of the RS4 Avant Nogaro in “Nogaro” blue with a pearl finish, in order to bring out the lines of the body.

On the outside, emphasis is also given to the application of black tone to various elements, from the front grille, side windows, roof supports and exhaust pipes, to the magnificent 20-inch wheels on tires measuring 265/30. The brake calipers are painted red, another feature in common with the Audi RS2 Avant.

Inside the Audi RS4 Avant Nogaro, this is where the similarities to the iconic sports van from the 90s stand out most. From the seats covered in black leather and Alcantara in the same blue tone as the bodywork, passing through several applications in carbon, to the various identification plates scattered throughout the interior.

Audi RS4 Avant Nogaro Selection

Under the hood of the Audi RS4 Avant Nogaro is the same 4.2 V8 engine as the base version of the RS4, with 450 hp at 8250 rpm and 430 Nm between 4000 rpm and 6000 rpm, as well as the same seven-speed gearbox of double clutch. All this power is transmitted to all four wheels through the well-known Quattro all-wheel drive system, which is largely responsible for the sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and the top speed of 280 km/h. Consumption remains at around 10.7 liters per 100 km.

The Audi RS4 Avant will be launched on the market later this year Until then, wait for its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
