Professional skier Jon Olsson will participate in the 2015 edition of the Gumball 3000 driving an Audi RS6 DTM with 950hp.
For those who don't know, Jon Olsson is a professional skier. We didn't know who you were until you started participating in Gumball 3000 – a kind of public road rally aimed at multi-millionaires, rich kids, adrenaline junkies, decaying rock stars and eccentric celebrities (or all of this to Same time…). The stages cross countries from one side to the other, breaks take place in the most luxurious hotels in the world, and briefings in the most exclusive casinos.The machines chosen for the Gumball 3000 are always eccentric, powerful and extremely expensive. And in this field, Jon Olsson has been one of the most trying participants. Last year he participated in a Le Mans prototype (!) And this year he will be using an Audi RS6 inspired by the German DTM Touring Championship.

When money is not an issue, everything is easy. Jon Olsson picked up the phone and called Leif Tufvesson, former head of engineering at Koenigsegg, and asked him to devise in record time (four months) an aesthetic package for his DTM-inspired Audi RS6, as well as perform a dynamic upgrade (suspensions, brakes and rims).

Afterwards, he called the renowned Stertman Motorsport home of preparations and asked them to maximize the use of the 4.0 twin-turbo V8 engine with 560hp from Audi, keeping the reliability within parameters that would allow him to use the van on a day-to-day basis. Stertman Motorsport hit the shelves for the best parts and equipped the Audi RS6 DTM with 18-carat gold-anodized turbos; handcrafted exhaust line; electronic reprogramming; new radiators; among other details.
The final result is 950hp of power with regular gasoline, and more than 1000hp with competition gasoline. Acceleration from 0-100km/h? We do not know. Consumptions? We don't even want to imagine. Jon will publicly appear at the controls of this Audi RS6 DTM in Gumball 3000 on May 23rd.
