Per Lenhoff and Magdalena Lindman (above) – Senior Manager and Technical Expert respectively in road safety data analysis at the Volvo Cars Safety Center – have just been recognized by the NHTSA (US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration).

The distinction was awarded by the American organization to the two safety technicians for their contribution to improving road safety conditions. Throughout their careers, both have been responsible for developing a wide range of advanced security systems including, for example, Run-Off Road Occupant Protection and methods capable of capturing and replicating real-life accidents.

With a clear focus on increasing real safety conditions, safety technicians have been contributing substantially to the high safety levels of Volvo's latest production models, including, for example, the XC60 – read our first contact with the new generation of the SUV bestseller.

Since its inception, Volvo Cars has aimed to protect people, understand their needs and make their lives better.
So we are very proud of this recognition that NHTSA is now giving to the fantastic work of Magdalena and Per.
Our approach is consistent - we want to provide security in real conditions - and this has had a clear positive impact on people's lives for many years. Our ambition is that, from 2020 onwards, no one will lose their life or be seriously injured in a new Volvo – Vision 2020.

Malin Ekholm, vice president of Volvo Cars Safety Centre.
