Bugatti Divo. The most radical member of the Bugatti family has sold out

There will only be 40 units, each with a minimum price of five million euros. A requirement that, even so, was not enough to deter potential interested parties, who quickly exhausted the entire production of the Bugatti Divo that the Molsheim manufacturer intends to produce.

However, if you're wondering what makes this Divo worth the millions that Bugatti asks for it, the answer is easy: better performance, more efficiency, even more exclusivity!

Starting with the performance, the differences result, from the outset, from the exterior appearance and from the alterations made by Bugatti's designers in the hyper-sports architecture. Whose front, while maintaining the emblematic front grille, opts for very different optics, new air intakes to ensure better airflow and cooling, as well as a new and huge front spoiler, part of a much more complete aerodynamic package.

Already on the roof, a new air intake, once again, for better cooling of the huge W16, while, in the rear section, a new active wing, 23% larger than the Chiron, which can also act as a brake.

90 kg more downforce

The new Divo is also able to withstand lateral forces up to 1.6 G's, more than the Chiron, which, together with the other aerodynamic solutions, which includes a new rear diffuser, makes the downforce value increase by 90 kg compared to the Chiron — basically, while the Chiron is all about top speed, the Divo is more about curves!…

Moreover, the Divo is also lighter than the model that serves as its base, thanks not only to the removal of some of the insulating material, but also to a greater use of carbon fiber — in the intercooler cover and on the wheels.

Also removed were the storage compartments, while the original sound system was replaced by a more simplified version. Thus contributing to a weight reduction that does not exceed 35 kg.

Faster 8s than Chiron

According to the brand, these and other arguments allow the Bugatti Divo to make a lap around the Nardò circuit in about eight seconds less than the Chiron. This, despite the 8.0 liter W16 that both cars share, has not undergone any change, keeping the 1500 hp of power untouched.

Although and in the case of the Divo, it even guarantees a substantially lower top speed than the Chiron: while it advertises 420 km/h of speed, the new model stays at 380 km/h — a small thing…

As a curiosity, just mention that the Bugatti Divo takes its name from the French driver Albert Divo, who has already disappeared. And that, at the wheel of a car of the Molsheim brand, he won, in 1928 and 1929, the famous Targa Florio race, held on the mountainous roads of the Italian region of Sicily.
