New decree dictates the closure of stands and driving test centers

Published yesterday (January 22) in Diário da República, Decree No. 3-C/2021 changed the operating rules of stands, driving test centers and car inspection centers.

According to this decree, “examination centers close, as well as commercial establishments for bicycles, motor vehicles and motorcycles”.

As for the car inspection centers, they are still able to function, but only by appointment. Both measures take effect today (Saturday, 23 January).

Interestingly, although it was only in the decree promulgated last Thursday by the President of the Republic that the closing of driving test centers was decreed, the driving schools were already closed.

Taking this into account, although until now code and driving tests can be scheduled and carried out, the closure of driving schools had already led to the cancellation of many assessments.

All because once the driving schools were closed, students could not complete the mandatory training to take the exam.
