Please note that this news is especially for you: EMEL (Public Parking Company) is preparing to distribute a survey to find out if its “customers” are satisfied with the work of the company and, taking into account the difficult situation in the country , states that there may be a change in current tariffs.

For António Júlio de Almeida, president of the company, “EMEL produces time and mobility. We have to ensure that people move around well, don't spend excessive time looking for parking. Almost 10% of Lisbon's population is an EMEL customer, and therefore, we have to understand if we are doing our job well“.

“We are always looking to improve. We have to ascertain people's needs. Our idea is, for the year, to have conclusions and put into the field the measures that will result from this inquiry", added the company's president to the Lusa agency.

But as good as EMEL's work is, what interests us the most, customers, is knowing whether there will be changes for the better (understandably, lower tariff prices). According to António de Almeida, “a lot has changed in recent years and the weight of expenses is much greater than it was 20 years ago. I would like the parking expenses not to be an additional burden on the families' budget”. We too Mr. President…

Therefore, he admits that the "company may come to propose and the chamber may change the tariff system to rebalance these things".

The survey will be carried out by telephone between October 30th and November 24th, to approximately 2 thousand citizens residing in Lisbon, non-residents, merchants, students and citizens with reduced mobility. 110,000 leaflets will also be distributed in mailboxes in the areas where EMEL operates and in the areas where it will soon be operating.
