Lamborghini Aventador S (LP 740-4): rejuvenated bull

Anonim

Lamborghini has just presented the first images of the Aventador S. It is the first facelift operated on this model launched in 2011.

The competition doesn't sleep and Lamborghini doesn't either. Six years after the presentation of the Aventador at the Geneva Motor Show, the super sports car from Sant’Agata Bolognese finally receives its first major update. In addition to the aesthetics with slight improvements, there are news in terms of mechanics and technology.

Let's get to the least important first: the infotainment system has been updated. Whenever the driver manages to take his eyes off the road, he will have at his disposal a center console with a new screen and an infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Now the most important thing… the engine and aerodynamics. As for the engine, slight improvements in engine management made power rise to 740 hp (+40 hp) and the maximum rev range also rose from 8,350 rpm to 8,500 rpm. The new exhaust system (20 kg lighter) should also have its share of responsibility for these values.

Due to this increase in power, the acceleration from 0-100km/h is now done in a scant 2.9 seconds in a speed climb that only ends at 350 km/h.

Because power isn't everything, aerodynamics were also worked on. Some of the aerodynamic solutions found in the SV version were carried over to this Aventador S. Compared to its predecessor, the Aventador S now generates 130% more downforce on the front axle and 40% more on the rear axle. Ready for another 4 years? It seems so.
