Edna. That's the name of the prototype of Atieva, a startup based in Silicon Valley, California, formed by former engineers from Tesla and Oracle. The company intends to debut on the market with a saloon with “eyes set on the future”, a natural competitor to the future Tesla Model S, which will be launched in two years' time.Returning to the present, Atieva has just unveiled a small video of the first dynamic tests of its electric engine, not with a saloon but with a Mercedes-Benz van that lent its “body” for the first tests of the electric system.

With two electric motors, two gearboxes and an 87 kWh battery, the Edna delivers a total of 900 hp of power. Thanks to this avalanche of power, Edna only needs 3.08 seconds to reach 0-60 miles per hour, and is therefore faster than the Ferrari California T and Tesla Model S, as shown in the video below.
The autonomy was not revealed, but according to the brand, it will "exceed current limitations". Could Atieva come to stand up to the giants of the car industry and join Tesla in this fight?
