Last November, we told you the story of Allyn Pierce, how she used her private car, a Toyota Tundra, affectionately called the Pandra, as an evacuation vehicle for dozens of people during the raging fires that ravaged the state of California , In the USA.
In addition to losing her pick-up truck—becoming seriously damaged due to the intense heat it had to endure—she would also lose her job as a nurse at the hospital and also her home, both consumed by the flames.
Upon learning of this story of heroism, Toyota USA went ahead with the offer of a new Tundra, a promise fulfilled shortly thereafter.
At the time, Rockstar Garage, too, stepped in to help Allyn Pierce, offering to transform the Toyota Tundra to exactly the same specs as the original Pandra — it was altered with off-road equipment.
After all these months, Rockstar Garage has finally completed the job, but with an additional surprise. Take a look at Pandra 2.0's paint scheme… Essentially they gave it the same look as the original Pandra got after facing the flames.
Rockstar Garage used the services of Team + Bullet Liner to simulate the burnt effect of the original. Interestingly, they didn't start by using paint, but rather a protective coating usually applied to the inside of pick-up cargo boxes, which not only helps make them more resistant to damage, but also has anti-slip properties.

Being thicker than auto paint, it became the ideal material to simulate the bubbles and melted paint that were seen on the original Toyota Tundra. After this base, then yes, we started to apply several shades of brown, in order to achieve the burnt appearance, with the final details being carried out using an airbrush.
Aside from the absence of melted plastics, the end result makes the Toyota Tundra or Pandra 2.0 virtually indistinguishable from the original Pandra — if you don't look at the huge wheels that equip it.
