Presented today at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the Bugatti La Voiture Noire — see here our images directly from the Helvetic event — is, according to the French brand, the most expensive new car ever.
Bugatti asks for its "black vehicle" the modest amount of 11 million euros . A not very nice value considering that it does not include taxes.
That said, the question arises: what will be the most expensive remaining new cars in history? Here they stay, just to make you feel a little poorer. Don't take this the wrong way, we're together...
8th place. Aston Martin Valkyrie
It costs 2.8 million euros. The English hypersport was another sensation at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The price is not yet official, but there are rumors that point to a value of around 2.8 million euros. More Mazda MX-5 Less Mazda MX-5…
Only 150 units will be produced and they will all be sold. If you want to know more about him, we have a special article about his engine.
7th place. Bugatti Chiron Sport
It costs 2.9 million euros. If this year the sensation of the Geneva Motor Show at the Bugatti stand was La Voiture Noire, last year the sensation was its «low cost» version, the Bugatti Chiron Sport.
Yes. We just joined the words «low cost» and Bugatti in the same sentence. I can sleep well now.
6th place. W Motors Lykan Hypersport
It costs 3 million euros. Introduced in 2013, this W Motors model wasn't just fast… it was eccentric.
Inside we found 420 diamonds embedded in the cabin. Why? Just because. In terms of engine power, the Lykan Hypersport had a 3.7 l six-cylinder (flat-six) engine with more than 740 hp of power and 900 Nm of maximum torque.
5th place. Lamborghini Poison
It costs 4 million euros. Lamborghini only produced 14 units of the Veneno, and they were all sold out at a glance.
No wonder. Look at it… it's literally a more “poisonous” version of the incredible Aventador. With 740 hp of power and 610 Nm of maximum torque extracted from the 6.5 V12 engine. It's the most expensive Lamborghini ever.
4th place. Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita
It costs 4.2 million euros. Where do we start? Koenigsegg's state-of-the-art engineering adds a bodywork that blends materials as exotic as diamonds and carbon fiber.
In terms of engine, the Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita used a 4.8 l V8 with more than 1000 hp of power. Only three copies were produced.
3rd place. Maybach Exelero
It costs 7 million euros. Introduced in 2004, this model had a Maybach at its base and was ordered by a tire company, Fulda, a subsidiary of Goodyear, from Maybach.
Don't belittle the car for it. If Michelin can intrude in the luxury restaurant business, Fulda can also intrude in the millionaire car business. Only one unit of this model was produced.
2nd place. Rolls-Royce Sweptail
It costs 11.3 million euros. Calm down, we know how to do math. Technically the Rolls-Royce Sweptail is more expensive than the Bugatti La Voiture Noire.
Problem? Rolls-Royce has never officially confirmed the value of its Sweptail. Besides, who are we to doubt Bugatti. Where have you ever seen a car brand lying... ever.
