They sacrificed a Porsche Panamera... all for a good cause

This Porsche Panamera was the one sacrificed in the extrication exercises of the firefighters in Nuremberg, Germany.

As we know, in the event of a serious accident, every second counts to try to help the vehicle's occupants. As such, rescue maneuvers – in particular the extrication maneuver – need to be trained in detail by rescue teams.

In the case of the Nuremberg firefighters, it will not be for lack of preparation that the rescue will take longer, judging by the exercises carried out by this department. Recently, the Nuremberg firefighters participated in a simulacrum of an extrication situation with the precious “help” of a new generation Porsche Panamera, as you can see in the images.

The car in question is a pre-production model kindly provided by Porsche. According to Alexander Grenz, responsible for technical services at Porsche, the car had already served its purpose, it could not be sold and was therefore unnecessary.

“Many builders create 'rescue plans' for their models to help in emergency situations where people need to be rescued. This helps make the work of rescue teams easier and faster in the event of an accident.”
