Toyota Recall Brings 1 Million Cars to Repair Shop

Anonim

The recall saga of Toyota to be continued. After a few months ago, the Japanese brand called 1.03 million vehicles to repair shops around the world due to the risk of fire, Toyota will now call about 1 million cars to repair shops.

This time the problem is in the airbags that can “inflate” without having an accident or, on the other hand, not working if necessary. This is because the airbag circuits can be damaged and lead to the deactivation of the airbag and seatbelt pretensioners.

The list of affected models includes the Scion xA, Toyota Corolla, Corolla Spacio, Corolla Verso, Corolla Fielder, Corolla RunxIsis, Avensis, Avensis Wagon, Allex, ist, Wish, and Sienta, with many of these models not being sold in the Europe.

Troubled airbags are nothing new

It is not the first time that the Japanese brand has faced problems with the airbags used in its models. Toyota had already called 1.43 million models to the workshops due to anomalies in the operation of the side airbags in the front seats, which could contain metal parts that would be projected against the occupants in the event of a collision.

Defective airbag control units will be exchanged at dealerships and owners of affected models will be notified in December. Toyota did not say whether the problem caused accidents or injuries and it is not yet known whether there are units affected in Portugal.
