With no titles up for grabs, what to expect from the Brazilian GP?

Anonim

Contrary to what happened in other seasons, at the entrance to the Brazilian GP, both the drivers' and the constructors' titles have already been awarded. However, this means that the points of interest of the Brazilian Grand Prix are drastically reduced compared to previous years.

Thus, at the entrance to the Brazilian GP, the question arises: will Lewis Hamilton, after becoming world champion in the USA, win in Brazil? Or will the Brit “raise his foot” and let other riders shine?

Among the Ferrari hosts, hopes are pinned on Vettel, as Charles Leclerc received a ten-seat penalty for an engine change. At Red Bull, the most likely is that Alex Albon will try to take advantage of the Brazilian GP to justify the confirmation that he will remain the team's second driver in 2020.

Inaugurated in 1940, and since 1973 it has hosted the Brazilian GP, with the Formula 1 having already visited it 35 times.

Regarding the most successful drivers on the Brazilian circuit, Michael Schumacher leads with four victories, among the teams, it was Ferrari who celebrated there the most, with a total of eight victories.

What to expect from the Brazilian GP?

With the first two places in the drivers' championship already awarded, the main highlight will be the fight for third place which pits two “young wolves”, Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen, with the Monegasque starting at a disadvantage (due to the penalty that you already have. talked) and still with Vettel.

Among the manufacturers, the most interesting of the “battles” should be between Racing Point and Toro Rosso, which are separated by only one point (they have, respectively, 65 and 64 points). Another point of interest will be the McLaren/Renault fight.

Already at the back of the pack, where planning for the next season has long been planned, Haas, Alfa Romeo and Williams should "fight" among themselves not to get the "red lantern" (which will probably fall to the British team).

For now, at a time when the first training session has already started, Albon from Red Bull leads, followed by Bottas and Vettel.

The Brazilian GP is scheduled to start at 17:10 (mainland Portugal time) on Sunday, and for Saturday afternoon, from 18:00 (mainland Portugal time) qualifying is scheduled.
