New Lexus IS on its way but may not come to Europe

The hypothesis was raised by the Dutch Autoweek, after a conversation with the importer of Lexus in the Netherlands that will have revealed to them precisely this information, that the new IS does not come to Europe.

At the base of this decision will be the decreasing commercial success of the sedans, which have been systematically losing sales to SUV/Crossover — the publication states that around 80% of Lexus sales in Europe corresponded to SUV/Crossover in 2019.

What is already known about the new Lexus IS

Despite the drop in demand for sedans in Europe, if the departure of the IS is confirmed, the Japanese brand will continue to have a sedan in the European market, the Lexus ES — it is much larger and is one segment above, having definitely taken the place of the GS, who has also said goodbye to the “old continent”
