For 9 minutes, Renault Sport shows us the intricacies of the development of the new RS 01. Model that will be used in World Series by Renault competitions.
Between the beginning of the work and the final design, it took only 5 months. An impressive job that had all the know-how of the competition department of the French brand, Renault Sport, and with a little extra help from NISMO in preparing the engine donated by the Nissan GT-R.

All together, it resulted in an impressive mid-engine, carbon monocoque competition car, weighing just 1100kg and a maximum power output of 550hp. Remember that the engine from Nissan, is a V6 3.8 bi-turbo loaned by the GT-R. In the Renault Sport RS 01 this engine received a new electronic management, a racing exhaust line and a 7-speed sequential gearbox from SADEV.
The remaining components were practically unchanged. In this way, Renault Sport believes that each engine can make two seasons of the World Series by Renault, competition in which it will debut this year. The result is in sight:
