Nissan X-Trail transformed into an off-road 'beast'

Nissan unveiled its latest “one-off” project, a tracked-equipped Nissan X-Trail.

It's called the Rogue Trail Warrior Project and it will be one of the Nissan models on display at the New York Motor Show, which opens its doors today. Similar to what it had done with the Desert Warrior, Nissan has turned its X-Trail – marketed in the US as the Nissan Rogue – into a more capable off-road vehicle.

To do this, Nissan replaced the four wheels with what it calls Dominator Tracks, a set of tracks measuring 122 cm in length, 76 cm in height and 38 cm in width, created by the company American Track Truck Inc. This novelty forced, naturally, to suspension modifications.

Moreover, in mechanical terms, the 2.5 liter engine with 170 hp of power continues to live under the bonnet, coupled with a standard X-Tronic CVT transmission.

This all-terrain preparation also includes a beige, military-style vinyl sticker on the bodywork in beige tones, yellowish windows and optics, a set of LED lights, front tow hook and a storage frame on the roof.

“This new Rogue Trail Warrior adds a new dimension to family adventures. For anyone who wants to stand out from the crowd during a day at the beach or in the desert, this is the perfect vehicle.”
