The iF Design Awards are one of the most important design awards, and have existed since 1953. The iF (International Forum) chooses worldwide products from all branches of the industry that aims to award prizes recognizing the best designs.

In 2018, Hyundai managed to see two more of its models being awarded this award. The Hyundai KAUAI and Hyundai i30 Fastback won the Product area award in the Automobiles/Vehicles category.

The Hyundai i30 Fastback's silhouette features dynamic proportions, created by a sloping roofline and an elongated bonnet. This unique silhouette is achieved by a lowered roof compared to the hatchback body, which does not compromise the practicality of the model. The i30 range currently comprises not only the Fastback, but also the five-door model, the i30 SW, and the sporty i30 N, thus satisfying the demands of all customers.

The brand's first compact SUV, the Hyundai KAUAI, is also the one with the most distinctive design. It stands out above all for its high-contrast bumpers and dual headlamps positioned under the LED daytime running lights, maintaining the elements that identify the Korean brand, namely the cascading grille.

For its part, the interior design of the Hyundai KAUAI reflects the exterior theme, featuring smooth, contoured surfaces under the instrument panel, which allow customers to adapt their own style with distinctive colors: grey, lime and red. The interior color combination also applies to seat belts.

These awards recognize our commitment to developing cars that showcase our unique approach to design.

Hyundai had already managed to collect the award in 2015 with the Hyundai i20, in 2016 with the Hyundai Tucson, and in 2017 with the new generation of the i30.

The iF Design awards ceremony will take place on March 9th.
