an italian with an american accent

For many of you, this news will sound like heresy: Putting a Chevy engine in a Ferrari. Yes, that's right… swapping the engine from a “pure blood” for a “redneck” V8.

But let's go by parts. What would you do if the engine of your Ferrari 360 GT delivered its soul to the creator on a beautiful Sunday morning during a track-day? In addition to crying of course...

While most Ferraris would opt for the most obvious answer, open the purse strings and rebuild the engine from A to Z – an arrangement that would at best cost a D-segment familiar – a Californian who succeeded this chose to a solution, let's say, not very consensual: it equipped its Ferrari with a Chevy V8 engine prepared by Lingenfelter Performance.

Result? Nothing more, nothing less than 1000hp(!) of fury delivered to the rear axle. This in a car born and raised in Italy but which, due to the vicissitudes of fate, changed its high-pitched and screaming exhaust tone for the full-bodied sound of an “American muscle”. Sweet…

Well, whoever is against, cast the first stone. For my part, I confess that I was surrendered.
