In 2014, the owner of this Ferrari LaFerrari (whose name is not known) will have spent more than 1 million dollars on the Italian sports car. Apparently, there will be no money left to cover the demanding import duties practiced in South Africa.
Furthermore, as a former British colony, since 2004 South Africa has prohibited the registration of left-hand drive vehicles (as is the case with this copy). As such, the car was impounded and stored in customs warehouses for over three years.
Earlier this year, South African authorities decided to return the LaFerrari to its owner so that he could leave the country. In February, the owner submitted an export declaration to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Everything seemed to have been resolved, that's when the owner of the car had the brilliant idea of returning to South Africa with the Italian hypersportsman. A car that even goes unnoticed… Result: the car was seized again.
If the car owner does not rectify the situation, this story could have the worst possible outcome: the destruction of the Ferrari LaFerrari.
