But the question that arises is: which generation of the BMW M3 leaves your heart pounding the most? – A few weeks ago we put our Facebook followers to the test with the following question: Duel of two great generations (E30 Vs. E93) | Which of these BMW M3 is your favourite?
Well… the result couldn't be more expressive. Of the dozens of comments we've gotten, the people who opted for the most modern E93 can be counted on the fingers of their hands. The truth is that all of us looking at the mythical E30 were infected by its "square lines" and its genuinely sporty soul, after all we are talking about a race car that was created and sold just for approval reasons.
But is this preference for the mythical E30 justified? Is it possible that we like a car from the 80's more than an evolution created in the 21st century? It was these and other questions that the XCAR guys were trying to clarify. The modern M3 used to compare with the M3 E30, it wasn't just any M3, it was the M3 GTS (E92), the orange limited edition that is considered by many to be the most «lunatic» of the M3 family.
Despite the nearly 300 hp difference that separates grandfather and grandson, the M3 E92 GTS was also built to be a race car, hence all those components that characterize it as such.
