BMW Z2: arrives in 2015 with front wheel drive

The next sports car from the Bavarian brand is compact and will be built using the UKL front-wheel drive platform – BMW Z2

Forecasts about BMW's fates are slowly coming true, it is now expected that the engineers at the manufacturer will be able to turn this change in traction into something positive and guarantee the same driving pleasure, apparently, for a much lower price.

The BMW Z2 will be the successor to the old Z3 and will fill yet another space in BMW's sports car offering. According to the Autocar, the future small sports car will be the same size as the BMW Z3, but unlike it, it will be built on the new UKL front-wheel drive platform. To reduce production costs, everything indicates that the model will be built alongside the Mini Coupé and Mini Roadster.

The engines should be limited to gasoline engines and it is said that there will also be an M version to spice up the little BMW, with a 2 liter engine producing 300hp, probably with all-wheel drive.

This news is not just a rumor, but with this new platform BMW is even able to do everything, literally, at the price of rain, which makes us believe that this model could well advance to the production line. The fact that it is produced alongside the Mini…let's hope that the “companies” don't influence the design, because to “spoil” the front wheel drive is already enough.
