BMW 2002 and Honda S2000. Two very special cars, each in its own way, and that never “dreamed” that their paths would cross. But that happened and that "marriage" was born this 2002 BMW with the S2000 VTEC engine, and even more with turbo.

It is likely that after this first paragraph, the most purist Honda and BMW fans have already fallen by the wayside, but for the “resistant”, it is important to say that this BMW 2002 with a Japanese “heart” is looking for a new owner.

Purchased by the company CATuned of Sacramento, California (USA), in 2010, this BMW 2002 from 1976 received the engine of the Honda S2000 — known as F20C, a 2.0 liter atmospheric four-cylinder engine — shortly after, still under the purview of this preparer North-American.

This was followed by the installation of a turbo, which would eventually be replaced by an even bigger one in 2015 — a Garrett GTX2867 —, here under the responsibility of the current owner and the company Group 2 Motorsports, based in Seattle (USA).

Thanks to a graph obtained from the power bank — which accompanies the documents of this car — it is known that this BMW 2002 produces around 279 hp (275 hp) of power and 246 Nm (182 lb-ft) of maximum torque. Power is sent exclusively to the two rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox.

The total mileage is unknown, as the sale announcement itself explains, even though the current odometer — also from a Honda S2000 — shows 109,000 miles, something like 175 418 km.

On the outside, the red paintwork shows its age, unlike the 15” Rota wheels, which are mounted on a set of Michelin Premier A/S tires measuring 195/55.

Inside, in addition to the Honda S2000 instrument panel, the Alpina steering wheel and Recaro sports seats “stolen” from a BMW 3 Series of the E21 generation stand out.

The auction of this “bimmer” is taking place on the “Bring A Trailer” portal and will end today. At the time of publication of this article, the highest bid was $9113, something like 7745 euros.
