Green NCAP. Mazda2, Ford Puma and DS 3 Crossback put to the test

Anonim

After having tested three urban models (the electric Fiat 500, the Honda Jazz hybrid and the diesel Peugeot 208), the Green NCAP returned to the B-segment and tested the Mazda2, the Ford Puma and the DS 3 Crossback.

In case you don't remember, the Green NCAP tests are divided into three evaluation areas: the air cleanliness index, the energy efficiency index and the greenhouse gas emission index. In the end, a rating of up to five stars is given to the evaluated vehicle (as in Euro NCAP), qualifying the vehicle's environmental performance.

For now, the tests only contemplate the environmental performance of the vehicles in use. In the future, Green NCAP also plans to carry out a well-to-wheel assessment that will include, for example, the emissions generated to produce a vehicle or the source of electricity that electric vehicles need.

The results

Contrary to what is already becoming usual, none of the tested models is 100% electric (or even hybrid), with a petrol model (the Mazda2), a mild-hybrid (the Ford Puma) and a diesel being presented instead ( the DS 3 Crossback).

Among the three models, the best classification was given to the Mazda Mazda2 , which equipped with the 1.5 liter Skyactiv-G achieved 3.5 stars. In the field of energy efficiency it obtained a score of 6.9/10, in the air cleanliness index it reached 5.9/10 and in greenhouse gas emissions it was 5.6/10.

THE Ford Puma with 1.0 EcoBoost mild-hybrid it achieved 3.0 stars and the following rating in the three assessment areas: 6.4/10 in the field of energy efficiency; 4.8/10 in the air cleanliness index and 5.1/10 in greenhouse gas emissions.

Ford Puma

Finally, the DS 3 Crossback equipped with the 1.5 BlueHDi it achieved the most modest result, coming in at 2.5 stars. Although, according to Green NCAP, the Gallic model managed to control the emission of particles well in the test, the ammonium and NOx emissions ended up harming the final result.

Thus, in the field of energy efficiency, the DS 3 Crossback achieved a rating of 5.8/10, in the air cleanliness index it reached 4/10 and finally in terms of greenhouse gas emissions it saw the score stay at 3 .3/10.
