BIT Mobility Solutions, a subsidiary of Brisa Inovação, signed a contract worth 2 million euros, for a period of 5 years, with Southern Connector, in South Carolina.

Brisa Inovação sold an automatic toll collection system to the Southern Connector highway, in South Carolina, in the United States. The contract is worth two million euros.

In a press release, Brisa explains that the Southern Connector motorway needed to implement a management system that would improve the effectiveness and efficiency of toll collection and reduce defaults.

Southern Connector's 16-mile highway, in the state of South Carolina (USA), has 16 lanes in both main plazas – 4 in the Open Toll System (SAP), 4 in the Automatic Payment System (SPA). ) and 8 manuals – and 4 tolls with both systems (SAP and SPA). The operation is ensured through a shift schedule of a team of 28 porters and supervisors.

This project is a challenge for BMS, as it involves a highly qualified team of engineers completely dedicated to the project, in order to design, develop and install the new solution, while allowing a smooth migration from the manual license plate recognition system to a fully automatic process, to respond to Southern Connector's main request: to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of toll collection and to reduce defaults.
