Originally launched in 2016, the Suzuki Ignis has now been given the typical mid-life facelift to keep it fresh in a segment where many brands seem to want to “escape”.

Visually the news are not many and could even go unnoticed. Therefore, as we can see in the images taken in Portugal, these are summed up to a new grid with five vertical bars (inspired by the one used by Jimny), and to the redesigned bumpers — compare in the gallery below...

Inside, in addition to new colors, the only major innovation is the adoption of a redesigned instrument panel.

As we told you, the big news that this renovation has brought to the Suzuki Ignis comes under the bonnet. There, the 1.2 Dualjet four-cylinder and 90 hp was the subject of several improvements, receiving a new injection system, VVT (Variable Valve Timing) intake, a new piston cooling system and a variable capacity oil pump.

Combined with a 12 V mild-hybrid system, this engine is now also available with a CVT box. Speaking of the mild-hybrid system, this saw the capacity of the lithium-ion battery that powers it go from 3 Ah to 10 Ah.

For now, Suzuki has not released any data regarding the performance, economy or emissions of the renewed Ignis. The price of the renewed Suzuki Ignis is also unknown, but its arrival on the national market is expected to take place during next spring.
