Starting with the ones that stand out the most, related to their appearance, the two German models will receive a set of individual colors inspired by the flashy colors used by Porsches from the 90s of the last century, including the 911 (964) .
So the Taycan is now available with Custom Paint and Custom Paint Plus. The first allows painting with 63 additional colors (among which “Moonlight Blue Metallic”, “Acid Green”, “Ruby Red”, “Riviera Blue” and “Violet Metallic”). The second offers almost complete freedom in choosing the color.

Equipped since its launch with the sixth generation of Porsche Communication Management (PCM), the Taycan now sees Android Auto being integrated into PCM, thus joining Apple CarPlay.Thanks to this integration, smartphone functions and applications can now be operated via PCM 6.0 or via the Google Assistant voice command. Also the presentation of the infotainment system has been revised, there are now five options in the menu on the left side of the screen instead of three and the icons can be organized individually.
In addition to the reinforcement in the field of connectivity, the arrival of the Remote Park Assist system (optional) should also be highlighted. Briefly, this allows the Taycan to enter or leave a parking space without the driver being behind the wheel, with the maneuver being controlled via smartphone.

Although the autonomy announced by WLTP remains unchanged (all because the new model year will not be subject to a new approval), Porsche claims that the autonomy in the “real world” has increased.
According to the German brand: “In Normal and Range modes, the electric front motor is practically switched off in the partial load range on all-wheel-drive models. Furthermore, no energy is transmitted to any of the axles when the vehicle is “sailing” or stationary. This electric free wheel function reduces drag losses”.
In addition to these improvements, the thermal management of the batteries and the charging functions were also subject to improvements. In the field of thermal management, the “Turbo Charging Planner” allows the battery to be heated to a higher temperature than before, thus allowing for faster charging earlier and at a higher level of charge.
In addition, Porsche found a way to maximize the use of heat waste from electrical components for battery temperature regulation.
For now, the prices of the new Model Year 2022 for the Porsche Taycan and Taycan Cross Turismo have not been revealed, nor has a date been given for their arrival at the German brand's dealerships.
