Range Rover. New generation will be revealed next week

Anonim

With the presentation of the fifth generation of Range Rover closer and closer (it's scheduled for October 26th), anticipation about the British model continues to grow, an ideal time for Land Rover to release two teasers of the new model.

As you'd expect, these don't reveal much of the new Range Rover, however they confirm something we already knew: as always, the design will follow the “path” of evolution and not the “revolution”.

This is very evident in the teaser that anticipates its profile, easily identifiable as being that of a Range Rover, where the most absent-minded can even assume that the image shows the profile… of the current generation.

Range Rover

Already the teaser that anticipates in more detail the front of the British SUV, confirms the arrival of a grill with a new design and that the designation "Range Rover" continues to be above it, on the hood.

What do we already know?

Already "caught up" in tests several times, the new Range Rover will debut the MLA platform, the one that should have been debuted by the new Jaguar XJ (which was cancelled). As is currently the case, the new generation Range Rover will have two bodies: “normal” and long (with longer wheelbase).

Also practically confirmed is the presence of the latest generation of the Pivo Pro infotainment system. As far as engines are concerned, mild-hybrid technology is set to become the norm and plug-in hybrid versions are assured of their presence in the range.

In this field, while the continuity of the currently used inline six-cylinder is practically assured, the same cannot be said about the 5.0 V8.

Rumors persist that Jaguar Land Rover will be able to do without its veteran block and resort to a BMW-origin V8. The engine in question consists of the N63, the 4.4 l twin-turbo V8, an engine we know from the M50i versions of the SUVs X5, X6 and X7, or even from the M550i and M850i, delivering, in these cases, 530 hp.
