Pininfarina Battista. 1900 hp electric hyper-sports show in the production version

Anonim

Geneva Salon 2019. It was in the last edition of the relevant Swiss event that we were able to get to know the Pininfarina Baptist . So still a prototype (although already very close to production), the first creation of Automobili Pininfarina had as its calling card the most powerful Italian car ever, despite being powered by electrons.

Since then, it was necessary to wait about two years for Battista to be seen in its production version and, truth be told, we can say that the (long) wait was worth it.

This first appearance takes place within the scope of Monterey Car Week and allowed us to confirm that the lines revealed in Geneva — and that Diogo Teixeira was able to observe closely at the time — remained unchanged.

awesome numbers

Like the lines, the impressive numbers presented by Battista also remained untouched between the prototype phase and the arrival in the “real world”.

Therefore, the first 100% electric transalpine hypercar presents an impressive 1900 hp and 2300 Nm of torque extracted from four (!) electric motors (one per wheel) supplied by the “gurus” of electric hypercars, the lords of Rimac.

All of this allows the most powerful Italian car ever — a title now claimed by a new candidate named Estrema Fulminea — to “dispatch” the 0 at 100 km/h in less than 2s, taking only 12s to reach 300 km/h and accelerate to 350 km/h top speed.

The energy to power the 1900 hp comes from a 120 kWh battery pack placed in a “T” structure (located in the center of the car, behind the seats) which allows a maximum range of 450 km.

Limited to only 150 units, the Pininfarina Battista will see five of these copies “dress up to rigor” in the “Anniversario” version. This stands out for the adoption of a pack more focused on aerodynamics called “Furiosa” and for the bicolor paint.

Regarding this revelation, the CEO of Pininfarina stated that this is “the beginning of a very significant new chapter in the history of Automobili Pininfarina”, adding: “We are excited to show our customers the sustainable future of luxury, while celebrating over 90 years of Pininfarina's design heritage”.
