Originally scheduled for the Estoril Circuit on the 28th and 29th of March, the inaugural journey of the C1 Trophy and the Single Seater Series was postponed a week, starting to take place on the 4th and 5th of April.

This decision is based on the fact that the Estoril Circuit was the alternative found by the 24H Series to prevent it from holding its first test at the Monza circuit, due to restrictions imposed in Italy as a result of the coronavirus crisis.

Given the media impact of an event such as the first race of the 24H Series (both for the circuit and for the region), the Estoril Circuit administration asked Motor Sponsor, the organizer of the C1 Trophy, to postpone the first race for a week. Trophy C1 and Single Seater Series events.

About this postponement, André Marques, responsible for the organization, asked the pilots and teams for “the greatest understanding” and stated: “We are fully aware that it could cause inconvenience, but today is another championship in trouble, tomorrow it can be us. Unfortunately this coronavirus issue is having a very strong impact globally”.

In addition to this, André Marques added, “If they didn't come to Estoril, they would have to cancel the first race. Together with the administration of the Estoril Circuit, among others, we managed to prevent this cancellation and also keep our races for 4th and 5th of April”.

After this postponement, Motor Sponsor will, together with the ACDME (Association of Motorized Sports Commissioners of Estoril), request the alteration of the sporting regulations of the event. As soon as these are approved by the FPAK, Motor Sponsor plans to open registration for the first race of the C1 Trophy.
