Cold Start. New Volkswagen ID.4 also drifts from the rear

Anonim

ID.3 was the first of the ID family that we know of, but greater responsibilities rest on the shoulders of the new ID.4 , Volkswagen's first electric SUV/Crossover, which will have to conquer the whole world — it's objective that its production reach 500 thousand units/year.

It had already been revealed in Europe — the ID.4 First pre-reservations have even sold out in Portugal —; China will be entitled not to one, but to two ID.4; and, of course, it will also be sold (and produced) in North America.

To show what his new electric and familiar SUV/Crossover is worth in “Uncle Sam” land, Volkswagen, in a somewhat intriguing way, took it to the Willow Springs circuit.

He put Tanner Foust at the wheel, a Volkswagen rally and rally cross driver, and “released” him on this “roller coaster” on asphalt, where we can see the new ID.4 attacking curves as if it were a pure sports car and even toasting us with some drifts from the rear.

Well… the new ID.4 is not intended to be a circuit car at all, but Foust quickly exploits the full potential of that 204 hp electric motor mounted on the rear axle.

Autonomy? Space for the family? It seems of little interest. Volkswagen ID.4 manages to drift from the rear.
