In this edition, a total of 24 models from 13 different manufacturers compete for the 2016 Essilor Car of the Year/Crystal Volante Trophy, the most prestigious award in the automotive sector in Portugal.
After registration was closed on October 1st, the regulatory precepts were complied with and after consideration and subsequent approval by the Executive Committee for Car of the Year 2016, 24 automotive products representing 13 manufacturers were admitted to this edition.This significant set of proposals in the competition will be analyzed by 19 judges, representing the media, who after the completion of the dynamic tests will vote for the 2016 Car of the Year election. In addition to the individual analysis of the 24 competitors for the Essilor Car of the Year/Trophy Crystal Wheel, the judges will also decide which winners of the five classes of the Automobile Trophy will be part of this edition, specifically: City of the Year, Van of the Year, Minivan of the Year, Executive of the Year and Crossover of the Year.
The high number of entries and the quality of the proposals submitted to the competition will certainly make the 2016 Essilor Car of the Year/Trophy Volante de Cristal a success, similar to what happened in previous years. Razão Automóvel integrates the panel of judges.
