Revealed four months ago, the magazine Volkswagen Arteon now arrives in Portugal and, in addition to a retouched look and a technological boost, it brings with it an unprecedented van variant called Shooting Brake, a plug-in hybrid version and a sporty R version.
In total, the German model will be available here in four equipment levels: Basis, (available later), Elegance, R-Line and R (also available at a later date).
As for the range of engines, this will consist of four petrol and three Diesel engines, although their arrival on the market will not happen all at the same time, with the offer in the launch phase consisting of the 2.0 TDI of 150 or 200 hp, front-wheel drive and seven-speed DSG gearbox.
The remaining engines
As for the gasoline offer, available later, it starts with the 1.5 TSI with 150 hp, six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. Above this comes the 2.0 TSI with 280 hp that is coupled to a DSG box with seven ratios and has the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system.

At the top of the octane-only offering, also available at a later stage, we find the 320hp and 420Nm version of the 2.0 TSI used by the Arteon R and which is associated with a seven-speed DSG gearbox and the 4MOTION system.
The gasoline offer is complete by Arteon and Hybrid that “marries” the combustion engine, the 1.4 TSi of 156 hp, with an electric motor of 115 hp, providing a combined power of 218 hp, the other with an electric one. Powering the electric motor is a 13 kWh lithium-ion battery, which promises up to 54 km of electrical autonomy . With front-wheel drive, the Arteon eHybrid uses a six-speed DSG box.
Finally, the only Diesel variant that will not be available when Arteon is launched in Portugal is the 2.0 TDI coupled to a six-speed manual transmission.
How much does it cost?
As we told you, in the launch phase in Portugal the Volkswagen Arteon will be available in two body shapes, two levels of equipment (Elegance and R Line) and with two Diesel engines (the 2.0 TDI with 150 hp and 200 hp).

As for prices, in the Volkswagen arteon saloon these range from €51,300 ordered for the Elegance version equipped with the 150hp 2.0 TDI to €55,722 for the R-Line version with the 2.0 TDI in the 200hp variant.
already the Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake sees prices start at 52 369 euros asked for the 2.0 TDI 150 hp in the Elegance variant and end at 56 550 euros that costs the R-Line version with the 2.0 TDI of 200 hp.
