The others strive to take the laurels of the victory, but the one who wins is the usual pick-up: The new 2012 Ford Ranger.
It's not the first time that the new Ford Ranger has earned high praise from us – last year we reported that this was the first pick-up ever to get the highest score in Euro Ncap's safety tests – and once again , we are obligated to bow to Ford engineers for this elegant and efficient creation.
And if by chance you think I'm suspicious to talk about the Ford Ranger (they think it's very good…!), even because after reading the next lines of this text, you'll realize that it's impossible not to agree with me. So here it goes: After undergoing difficult tests at the Millbrook test track, the Ford Ranger received 47 points, which is just more than the sum of the points that Isuzu D-MAX and VW Amarok, second and third placed, received respectively. This alone gives you an excellent idea of the machine we are talking about, don't you agree?
For Jarlath Sweeney, Irish judge on the Commercial Vehicles panel of journalists, "The Ford Ranger is excellent on the whole, perfectly combining its on-road comfort qualities with its off-road capability."
“Ranger is great for work and play, and customers will appreciate the difference once they get behind the wheel,” said Paul Randle, global line manager of commercial vehicles for Ford Europe.
Ford has already shown that it is no joke and takes the development of its vehicles very seriously. Also this year, Ford has already taken home the «cup» of the “International Van of the Year 2013” with the new Ford Transit Custom, and to remember that last year, its 1.0 liter EcoBoost petrol engine was also awarded the “International Engine of the Year 2012“.
