Maybe I'm getting too repetitive already, but the fiery blue of this Volvo S60 Polestar doesn't leave my head at all…
Eight days ago I was writing an article confirming the presence of this super special edition at the Los Angeles Hall, and today, hundreds of lucky people had the opportunity to see this unique copy up close. Yes, I admit it! I feel some envy of these people… But I'm even more envious of the gentleman (or lady) who paid $300,000 for Volvo's high-performance department, in partnership with Polestar, to create this “stupidly” stupendous S60.
As I've said in previous articles, I don't believe that Volvo sets itself up as “important” and gives so much exclusivity to this customer. It's not fair to ban the production of one of the brand's best cars ever, if not the best, to just leave a customer (no matter how special) happy and content to have the only S60 we all dream of one day…
But thinking about it, with the sentence I just wrote I think I already understood the game strategy that the Swedish giant is using. In the three articles I've written about this Volvo S60 Polestar, I've always highlighted my displeasure at the possibility of this Nordic hurricane not going into production. In other words, I am giving too much importance to this “simple” fact and, with this, I am arousing even more interest in the qualities of this “forbidden fruit”. Conclusion, which is good, is made even better by not being within anyone's reach.
Having said that, I will stop feeding this soap opera and will say, without a doubt, that “Volvo will produce at least a few more copies of this S60 Polestar”. If that doesn't happen… well, if that doesn't happen, the respect and affection that Volvo has for its customers must be commended. However, it is still a bad option.
