It will be on June 24th that we will know, for now virtually, the new and unprecedented Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake , Arteon's much anticipated van.

The new model variant that Volkswagen defines as its “Gran Turismo” will be introduced simultaneously with the announced model update.

Although unprecedented, Arteon Shooting Brake is not a total surprise — it was “caught” on the Chinese assembly line, where Arteon is also produced.

According to Klaus Bischoff, design director of the Volkswagen Group, “with Arteon Shooting Brake, we have created a new balance between speed, power and space”.

What to expect from the renewed Arteon?

If the introduction of the new variant is the main innovation of the renewed Arteon, it won't be the only one. Volkswagen announces a renewed cockpit, not only in terms of design, but also in terms of technology — the latest electronic base MIB3 will be part of the model's technological arsenal.

We will also see driving assistance systems strengthened with the addition of, for example, Travel Assist, which allows semi-autonomous driving (level 2) up to a speed of 210 km/h.

There is still room for updating mechanics in terms of efficiency and emissions, although no specifications have yet been advanced — we will have to wait for the revelation.

In the case of the new Arteon Shooting Brake, the R on the bumper denounces it as a sportier dash variant — is it an R Line, or is it even a long-promised R version?
