If they thought the initial engine offering on the Opel Adam was a total drought, things could be about to change and seriously. After the newly introduced 1.0 SIDI block, with 2 power levels, Opel plays a decisive card on Adam, with a block full of steroids, resorting to supercharging.
We are talking about the 1.4 Ecotec Turbo block, with 150 horsepower and 220Nm of torque, which will be able to catapult the little Adam S up to 220km/h, according to Opel. Unfortunately, the times from 0 to 100km/h have not been revealed, but it seems that we have a super mini that will be capable of times less than 8 seconds from 0 to 100km/h.
But that's not all, the Opel Adam S has details that can make its dynamic rebel behavior a reference in the segment.
According to Opel, the Opel Adam S will have components of the OPC kit available, which include the high-performance braking system, with 370mm discs in the front. In other words, the Opel Adam S should not suffer from the instability in braking, inherent to cars with a shorter wheelbase. In addition to the brakes, we also have a chassis with specific tuning and sport steering. To complete the touch of mental insanity on the part of Opel engineers, the Opel Adam S will bring with it a strict diet, using lighter materials.
In order for the Opel Adam S to accommodate disc sizes, the 18-inch wheels will be standard, as well as the sports suspension and if that wasn't enough to make the mouths water of those who already fall in love with the Opel Adam S, Opel decided to distinguish the Opel Adam S of the rest, with details such as: specific rear spoiler, lower front spoiler, mirror covers with a look in carbon and Recaro sports seats in leather.
