It was through the Facebook page Център за БОРБА с Ръждата (translated gives something like center against rust) that we learned about this discovery. In the town of Blagoevgrad, located in southwestern Bulgaria, hidden in a warehouse are 11 BMW 5 Series E34 (1987 to 1996), without ever having been used or registered.
Apparently they're all from 1994 — 10 saloons and a van — and according to the screenshots, they're all 520i and 525i, meaning they all come equipped with in-line six-cylinder petrol engines.
Also what seems to be apparent is the good state of repair of all the cars, despite being 25 years old, despite the fact that storage conditions are not the most desirable.
Yes, there is damage — some scratches and dents, a broken back window, and some rust spots. But nothing that can't be repaired, and the interiors look equally well-kept.
How is it possible?
It is the question that immediately arises. The story is somewhat confusing, but it involves a car leasing company, Bulgarlizing, and the Bulgarian Agricultural Fund, both headed by Dimitar Tadarakov. The relationship between the two organizations is unclear, but what is certain is that at the turn of the century Bulgarlizing became insolvent.
These BMW 5 Series would be part of a much larger fleet, where these 11 units would have been acquired by Tadarakov to serve the Bulgarian deputies of the 39th National Assembly (2001-2005). However, the deputies' preference for Mercedes-Benz dictated the end of the deal.
Tadarakov ended up keeping the cars, having bought the warehouse where they were now “discovered”.

Now, it seems, these 5 Series are going to be auctioned, speaking of a value of 15 thousand euros for each one . Interestingly, these cars cannot be registered in Bulgaria as they have new status and do not meet current emission regulations.
