Seventh best-selling model globally in 2018 (with about 747,000 units) and third best-selling SUV in the world last year (just behind the Toyota RAV4 and Volkswagen Tiguan), the fifth generation of the Honda CR-V not only marks Honda's return to hybrids but also the first step towards the full electrification of the Japanese brand's range.
Honda's plan is simple, until 2025, the Japanese brand wants 100% of its range to be electrified. For this purpose, the bet goes both for 100% electric models (as anticipated by the E Prototype) and for hybrid versions of “conventional” models, such as the new CR-V.
After having seen sales in Portugal grow 16% in 2018 compared to 2017, Honda hopes that the arrival of the new CR-V, which will be available with two engines, one gasoline and the other hybrid, will help to increase even more plus the market share that the Japanese brand has in Portugal.
Honda CR-V prices
Available with four equipment levels (Comfort, Elegance, Lifestyle and Executive), the ex-libris of the fifth generation of the SUV that since 1997 has sold 5600 units in Portugal is, without a doubt, the hybrid version that combines the 2.0 i-VTEC engine with the i-MMD hybrid system, boasting a combined power of 184 hp and 315 Nm of torque.

The petrol-only version, on the other hand, uses the 1.5 i-VTEC which, depending on the gearbox it is associated with, a six-speed manual or CVT, delivers, respectively, 173 hp or 193 hp. Common to both the hybrid and gasoline versions is the possibility that both can be combined with an all-wheel drive system.
