If the Honda S2000 became electric it could be like this

THE Honda S2000 it is, in its own right, one of the most iconic models of the Japanese brand. For that reason, its extensive legion of fans continues to “sigh” for a return of the roadster that was able to “scream” up to 9000 rpm and in which technology was reduced to the bare minimum.

However, we have to be realistic and a possible return of the S2000 (something Honda doesn't seem to exclude) in the 21st century will hardly translate into a spartan model and only focused on dynamics, especially when we take into account Honda's focus on electrification .

That said, it would not be surprising that the four rotating cylinders gave way to an electrified mechanics and, perhaps, even a 100% electric motor. Faced with this possibility, the artist Rain Prisk threw “hands on” and imagined how an electric Honda S2000 would be.

Even today the Honda S2000 “turns heads” in its wake.

Heresy or future?

If you'll recall, this isn't the first time that Rain Prisk has dedicated himself to imagining a modern electric version of an iconic Honda model. He did the same with the Honda CR-X a while ago and, we must admit, the end result was impressive.

This electric S2000 adopts several design solutions applied in Honda's latest proposals (such as the grille reduced to a minimum). In addition, the slender headlights joined by a black stripe and, of course, the long hood, which has always been one of the trademarks of the Japanese model, stand out.

Obviously, the idea of an electric Honda S2000 can “offend” the most purist fans of the model. However, at a time when we see models like the Mazda MX-5 moving towards electrification, perhaps this is the only way we can review an S2000 in Honda's range.

Also, there have been some “unofficial experiences” in this regard, like when someone fitted an original Honda S2000 with the engine of a… Tesla Model S.
