New Renault Scénic: who has seen it in whoever sees it...

The Geneva Motor Show was the stage for the presentation of the new Renault Scénic, a model that aims to be a modern interpretation of the concept of compact people carrier.

As expected, the 4th generation of the Renault Scénic adopts the dynamic lines of the R-Space Concept, presented in 2011 at the same show, and inheriting from it its more robust posture.

As for news, in truth it is (almost) everything new. The Scénic offers a triptych windscreen that improves the panoramic view, a higher body to the ground, larger wheels (20 inches original), enlarged front and rear tracks and, of course, the luminous signature with the C-shaped headlamps that are part of the brand's new stylistic language.

The range of engines includes 1.5 and 1.6 dCi diesel engines (with outputs between 95 and 160 hp), while the offer of gasoline engines includes two TCe engines of 115 and 130 hp respectively.

In addition to these, the French brand will make available a version of the Scénic equipped with the Hybrid Assist system in association with a 110hp DCi motor – this system uses the energy wasted in decelerations and braking to charge a 48 volt battery, this energy is later used to assist the functioning of the combustion engine.

Among the extra equipment available, the 4CONTROL and MULTI-SENSE technologies stand out. The latter allows the driver to customize the throttle sensitivity, adjust the response time of the engine, gearbox and control the firmness of the steering wheel, among other options. The new Renault Scénic is expected to arrive on the domestic market in the second half of the year.
