The Lamborghini Diablo SV was launched in 1995, five years after the Diablo took over from the Countach as the standard bearer of the Sant’Agata Bolognese builder.
It marked the return of the acronym SV (Super Veloce) to the Lamborghini since the Miura used it and became the entry point into the Italian supercar range, despite the greater sporting focus of this version.
This greater "accessibility" of the Diablo SV was justified by the dispensing of the Diablo VT (Visco Traction) all-wheel drive system, giving the super sports car, again, a variant with only two drive wheels.
For the rest, (almost) everything the same. I continued to use the huge 5.7 l naturally aspirated V12 and the five-speed manual gearbox, but on the Diablo SV the power rose from 492 hp to 510 hp and gained more powerful brakes.
