I've always admired Dacia Duster. It's proof that you can make a convincing product with little.
Don't understand on my part, that I'm saying that Dacia made "omelets without eggs". That's not what this is about. I prefer the phrase "omelet with enough eggs".
The Romanian brand knew how to take it in the right places so as not to compromise the final result. And savings start right at the bodywork. We don't have creased metal (which is more expensive to produce) and, for example, if we open the fuel filler nozzle we have weak finishes but… so what?
The end result is convincing:
If we jump inland, the perception that there were savings to offer a “cannon price” remains. The plastics are all hard and have a rough appearance at times, but the assembly is better than ever.

Unfortunately, at the time I recorded this video (end of 2018) the new Dacia Duster with the updated engines was not yet available - WLTP how much you oblige... However, we believe that in essence, our evaluation of the model remains current .
As you had the opportunity to see in the video, it is no longer necessary to “close your eyes” to some things to live in a healthy way with Dacia Duster.
On the road, the Dacia Duster is far from its most direct competition, despite the steering being much better. But off-road, this 4×4 version goes where no one else can.
In terms of comfort, the seats have improved immensely, as has the soundproofing. We travel more comfortable than ever but there are no great luxuries or daydreams. The price continues to pass your invoice.
Speaking of space, not any complaints. Without a doubt referential. Whether in the space for the occupants or in the space for the trunk.
In terms of equipment, not even the automatic air conditioning system was forgotten. As for the infotainment system, unlike the version I tested, the Dacia Duster 2019 already have an Apple Carplay and Android Auto system. They anticipated my criticism...
As for new engines, the difference between the diesel engine and the gasoline engine remains significant: around 3,000 euros. But I'll talk about the new engines after testing them, even though I think I'll keep the same opinion.
For those who cover many kilometers, the Diesel engine is still the one that makes the most sense.
Speaking of the 4×4 and 4×2 versions, I loved the 4×4 version for its off-road capabilities. However, it is class 2 at the tolls. It is a pity. And above all it's stupid – for lack of a better adjective to classify the categorization of vehicles on national highways.
